About

I am a Seattle-based fine art and commercial photographer. My fine art photographic themes include figure studies, man-made objects in the environment, water and portraiture. Capturing people, places and objects in ways that encourage the viewer to stop, look and apply his or her own experiences and references to the image, are among my goals as a visual artist.

Most color images in the Portfolio section are available for purchase unframed at $150 or archival framed with a double matte at $300. These prices include handling and shipping to U.S. addresses. Color images are delivered as high-resolution archival inkjet prints, with an image size of approximately 12-inches by 18-inches, printed on 13-inch by 19-inch photo paper. In addition, selected black-and-white images are available as traditional silver prints, at the same prices.

My commercial work is for clients who seek a fresh and unusual visual point of view, as well as for clients with technical requirements that can be fulfilled with digital photographic technology, including scanning, image enhancement and output to a variety of electronic and printed image formats.

I'm a native of Los Angeles. I lived in the San Francisco Bay and San Diego areas during most of the 1970s and 1980s, before arriving in Seattle in 1989. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles, and a Master's degree in Communication from Stanford University. In addition to photography, I have worked as a psychology instructor in community colleges, spent three years in the restaurant business, worked in the public sector in research and information systems, and served numerous corporate and public sector organizations as a consultant. As a volunteer in the arts, I am currently the president of the Seattle Art Museum Contemporary Art Council and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Henry Art Gallery, at the University of Washington.
